Yusef Latif - The Gentle Giant

Check this one out...this is Jazz musician Yusef Latif on some real cool ish. I think this one is ideal for all you producers out there. This is Soulful Jazz at his finest. I've heard some of his other albums, and I must say this is his a preferred period for me. I don't know much about his personal life since his life wasn't documented like some of the other jazz greats, but judging by his album covers, this dude was definitely on his own shit. (actually, lemme wikipedia that real quick. here's the link if you wanna check it out...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yusef_Latif). Download this one and it will put you in the right mood for the weekend!

The Gentle Giant

1. Nubian Lady (LP Version-1972)
2. Lowland Lullabye (LP Version)
3. Hey Jude (LP Version)
4. Jungle Plum (LP Version-1972)
5. The Poor Fisherman (LP Version-1972)
6. African Song (LP Version)
7. Queen Of The Night (LP Version)
8. Below Yellow Bell (LP Version)

An interesting story: I ripped this album from my own wax, and I'm not sure if it was my copy, or if it was all the copies that were printed, but on the vinyl, the song 'Hey Jude' was unplayable half way through the song. The grooves on the vinyl would get more and more faint, to the point where the record was smooth. Like I said, I could have just gotten a bad pressing. To make a long, and actually un-interesting story short, the song 'Hey Jude' is not in my dload. Sorry bout that.
