That sums it up right there...
This is a must have for any Hip Hop producer. You can loop any 10 seconds, put some drums behind it, and have yourself an instrumental worthy of some verses. Listen, I'm not tryin to discredit the beat makers out there, or give away any tips, my point is that some of the sounds heard on this album are so smooth, it'll put you on another level. Lonnie Liston Smith (Not to be confused with Dr. Lonnie Smith) goes out there on this one...I mean OUT THERE! (sometimes, a lil too far for my taste) but he brings you back to where even the novices will feel it. The best time to listen to this is night time, home by yourself, or overlookin the city somewhere. If you're lucky enough to have both, then that's a MUST. This Brotha is on one, and when you're on one in the 70's lemme quote the 36 Chambers album by sayin, you can cook up some marvelous shit!

Lonnie Liston Smith is one of the best ever. My uncle has all of his albums and I used to listen to them as a toddler. Have you heard 'Devika (Goddess Chants)'? That's one smooth joint that Digable Planets used. Oh yeah, have you ever heard Pharoah Sanders' 'Astral Traveling'? That one is a CLASSIC!

Ive heard the other L. L. Smith, but not the Pharoah Sanders joint. I definitely gotta peep that. Thats coo that you were exposed to good music at an early age, the younger you can appreciate good music, the better!
